Construction Spending In First 5 Months: Up 8.2%

So said the Census Bureau in its May 2014 construction put-in-place release (5p PDF).

EleBlog take: It’s not clear that it means ANYTHING, but the change in total construction from April 2014 to May 2014 was 0.1%, with an actually negative number (-0.3%) in total private construction (-1.4% in private new single-family residential construction). We’ll have to keep an eye on that — but one month MEANS NOTHING>
